Pros

No pros to add for Transamerica

Cons

Middle and Senior management have a lack of vision and no strategy. Many are in positions with little to no experience in delivering results and staying competitive. Salary is low compared to industry standards. Lack of transparency and do not treat employees well.

Pros

Nice location in the Baltimore harbor.

Cons

Uptight business atmosphere. Most people are underpaid. Only minorities or "favorites" are promoted. The company is constantly eliminating jobs or moving them to parts other parts of the country. No work life balance. Expected to work 70+ hours as a salary employee for the pay of a 40 hour employee.

Pros

Name Recognition and a beautiful building in SF

Cons

This is one of the worst places to work, the company is 100+ yrs old and acts its age. The decision makers all sit in Cedar Rapids, IA have no clue of the real world, they sit in their little silo of Iowa and they think the rest of the company should be run like they do it in Cedar Rapids. They are afraid of anything new and want to do it the same way today as it was done 50 years ago. If you want to join this company it better ONLY be in Iowa or you will have no opportunity for advancement or chance to be recognized. The people that make the decisions will not spend any money in technology they just want to be that company that is successful just because of their name recognition. Poor Salaries Poor Moral Their benefits are horrible for the insurance/money management industry you would assume they would take care of their employees THEY DON'T. Constant Reorganization within the company
