Pros

I worked as an accountant at Transamerica for two years and I enjoyed my experience there. The company has a supportive culture and a friendly environment. The management is responsive and helpful, and the benefits are generous. The work is challenging but rewarding, and I learned a lot from my colleagues and mentors. I would recommend Transamerica to anyone looking for a career in accounting.

Cons

I worked as an accountant for Transamerica for two years and I regret it. The company has a toxic culture, a lack of transparency, and a disregard for its employees. The management is incompetent, the pay is low, and the benefits are minimal. The workload is overwhelming, the deadlines are unrealistic, and the expectations are unreasonable. I would not recommend working for Transamerica to anyone who values their career and well-being.

Pros

Great people on the teams Pay is comparable Vacation is good Yearly bonus available Matching 401k

Cons

Leadership lacks clear direction. Reorganizes frequently with no clear plan which leaves employees struggling to understand their role in the new organization. Employees moved to new roles frequently under reorgs without having input on how it aligns with career path. Often leaves employees frustrated and disliking their job. Leadership says they care about their people, but doesn’t walk the talk. Leadership asks for feedback but then if given retribution occurs or you are tagged as “difficult” or a problem. Work life balance is encouraged but not supported. Leadership are known to berate employees. Very much a fear mentality for employees. CYA always. Leadership always looking for someone to blame. Not a healthy environment.
