Pros

Pay is good with the opportunity to make a decent monthly and annual bonus if you can figure out how to be profitable, which I did. I made great and lasting relationships with my team.

Cons

-Very little training. -Very little, if any appreciation. -Nepotism is very prevalent from top to bottom. If you’re not a part of the family in some way, it can be tough to feel welcome. -Management is more likely to “throw you under the bus” than coach you and help you when needed. -As mentioned in the title, the company hierarchy is an organized mess. There are people with supposed “authority” that tell managers what to do or they “will hear from George about it” then local and corporate management don’t follow up or show interest what these “authority figures” tell you to do. The corporate Directors, in my experience, are uninvolved, disinterested, and unsupportive. -Monday morning manager meetings are fluffy with little content, zero accountability, negative, and have little to no value. I would walk out of most of these meetings feeling confused, frustrated, and almost demotivated. -Ownership (not George) is over involved and controlling. I was told at one point by ownership that an employee appreciation lunch was not necessary because “that’s why people get paychecks.” I did the lunch any way. -Employees are allowed to go straight to ownership rather than having face to face, professional conversations with people. Essentially, tattling is tolerated and almost encouraged. I experienced this on a personal level more than once. -Watching other people treated so poorly by leadership made it difficult to sleep at night. -Company goals, mission statement, outlook, and overall company health is not discussed. -Quarterly meetings were good to talk with and associate fellow managers. These meeting however lack any substance. We talked about numbers but did not get in to any details about who is performing or who is underperforming. This further shows lack of accountability. -I was never given 1 evaluation or review, and not given a raise in my almost 2 years with Transwest. -Overall my experience was financially out performing every other department on the operations side of the business and still treated very poorly.

Pros

The company is growing and is goals oriented. Management set specific standards to be met.

Cons

Managers didn't seem concerned with cross-training or growth within the company. Would have liked to see more initiative developing leaders from within to improve the company.

Thank you for your feedback. As an organization, we are placing increased focus on employee development by using an annual appraisal process which fosters discussions about career growth within the company. While this process may not have been available during your time with us, we strive to engage all current employees in these discussions. We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavor!

Pros

Decent benefits. Decent pay, depending on the job.

Cons

This company is run with the “Good ol’ boy” mentality. If you aren’t “in” with the family, know someone in the family, have been there for 30 years or are a woman, good luck progressing. The sales environment is exhausting and you won’t get any positive feedback. Be prepared to deal with back-stabbing, being thrown under the bus and tons of disappointment. If you have a thick skin and aren’t expecting any type of advancement, you might be able to make it here. HR is pretty much useless and non-responsive.

We appreciate your feedback, and while we a customer-focused organization, we believe we also have a core focus on our employees. We do encourage all current employees to bring concerns to any level of management they feel comfortable with and are disappointed that you did not feel that was the appropriate course of action in your situation. We wish you the best and hope that you find success in your next role.
