- Good training programs for entry-level employees after college - Conservative senior management team with high integrity - Strong balance sheet compared to peers - Interesting business across many different industry sectors and types of insurance products

Cons

- Lack of long-term vision - U.S. centric company - Complicated systems and processes as a result of growth through acquisition - Culture tends to be hierarchical and risk-averse

Pros

Pay. Training. 401k. Health care expensive here vs. last employer.

Cons

Poor local management talent. Promotions and annual reviews not based on results. No consistency in evaluation across organization, leaving local management to arbitrary decisions on pay and performance evaluation. Top leadership wastes money on stock buy-backs. Good if you're Jay Fishman- bad for stockholders and employees (ie, no reinvestment in employees and service).
