Pros

The best reasons to work for Travelers Companies initially is the pay, average start salary for an inexperienced adjuster is around $45,000. Another reason to work for Travelers is the wonderful relationships you will build with your co-workers and finally, you will learn how to be the world's best multitasker, if you can work for Travelers you can do anything.

Cons

The best reasons to work for Travelers Companies initially is the pay; however, once you've come to the realization of what your responsibilities are, you'll feel extremely underpaid. There is is no work-life balance, turn-over is high. Managers are constantly scrutinizing every single thing about employees files, nit picky things that have nothing to do with the work product. Communications is not a 2-way street with employees and managers. Travelers has some of the best employees, if you make it with this company for more than a year, you have made it through initiation for corporate america or at least the insurance industry.

Pros

Good place to gain experience.

Cons

Its like being back in high school with all the cliques. People are mean and lazy. There's no such thing as teamwork.

Pros

Travelers is a great place to work. There's plenty of opportunities to get involved in various activities- whether projects at work or in the community. They also seem to have taken a greater interest in employee growth/development over the past year or so. It's a great culture, and the demands of the job are balanced and very reasonable; many friends have joined from other companies and they've been completely surprised by the willingness of others to help, the work/life balance, and openness of management.

Cons

For a company that makes its money dealing with unknown, the company is surprisingly risk averse in many ways. And I guess being in insurance, it's not a surprise that we're not always cutting-edge when it comes to its policies or technology.
