Pros

First and foremost, the people and the culture. I feel at home and am comfortable around my colleagues and managers including the CXOs. I love how everyone expresses their ideas and concerns freely and how things are dealt with in a rational manner. Everyone has a say. No inhibitions! Second, excellent exposure to business analytics, cutting edge technologies and client executives which comes bundled with the role of a consultant. (imho, now is the time to get into data science & being a consultant means much needed exposure to many successful companies) Third, nice perks to make your life easy. Despite being a startup, you get a good annual salary, full benefits like 401k, insurance, travel reimbursements, conferences, offsite training and bonuses etc. Last but not the least, the immigration help and the legal team. My mangers, HR and lawyers worked with me meticulously on my complicated visa case and delivered!

Cons

All the cons that come with working as a consultant for a start up. The role is very distinct and is not for everyone. You need to balance technical skills with people skills, take initiative and be proactive all the time, be a jack of all trades, work with offshore teams, be very adaptable and it can get overwhelming at times.

Worst Firm to Work For

Pros

I have left the firm very recently due to the cons mentioned below. The only pro is fun activities in the office

Cons

There are many downsides of working here:- 1. Bad work life balance. Compare the salaries with the other companies and the amount of work they extract. Bad staffing and resource crunch is pressurizing everyone to work till late night. 2. Too much toxicity and politics in the environment. 3. Bad Paymaster especially at junior levels considering the amount of work you have to do. 4. Too worried about the credibility of the firm in the eyes of the client. This will result in higher pressure, lesser scope of creativity and in becoming the "yes-man" to your managers 5. Managers are always right! No matter whether you are right or not, the manager is always right. Most of the managers play blame game to save themselves rather than owning their own work. 6. No defined training programs. Especially freshers suffer a lot as I have seen from my personal experience. 7. Learning becomes saturated at a stage or too overwhelming since you can cannot shift your project or you can get staffed on multiple projects together respectively. 8. No respect for your personal space. Often the calls becoming bothering to a great extent even in the night. 9. Promotions and appraisal are more dependent on your relation with the manager rather than your work. 10. No doubt the revenue has considerably increased in the firm. All at the expense of exploiting people day and night.
