Compensation is probably one of the weaker points, especially for experienced engineers. The salary package may be stable, but it can be less competitive compared with global software companies, semiconductor companies, or newer tech companies hiring senior engineers in Taiwan.
Promotion and career growth can feel slow. Sometimes the title, compensation, and responsibility do not grow at the same pace. If you are already a senior engineer and want a fast jump in salary or scope, you may need to push very actively or look outside.
Some projects may suffer from legacy architecture, slow decision-making, or unclear ownership across teams. Depending on the team, the engineering culture can vary a lot. Some teams are modern and pragmatic, while others may still rely on older processes or less efficient coordination.
The company has strong security domain expertise, but not every project gives engineers enough room to use modern engineering practices, cloud-native architecture, or newer development workflows.
