Pros

Very fulfilling work. Coworkers are very supportive.

Cons

Management is very uninvolved. Incredibly understaffed. Easy to get jaded and lose the passion you had when you started.

Important work, but less pay

Pros

Great supervisors in outpatient. Always feel supported. Proud of the work I do with clients. I have quite a bit of control over my schedule.

Cons

Skills trainers are very much viewed as a stepping stone job. Not a long term job. Makes it feel like it’s not enough. And the pay is never enough. The work is so crucial and important. But we are told no raises except for the maybe 2% cost of living raise.
