Pros

The culture at Trinity Solar is the most friendly, supportive, and team-oriented environment I’ve experienced in my 40+ years of working in both salary and commission-based roles, including retail and in-home sales. In previous commission positions, I often felt unsupported and trapped in toxic competition with other sales reps. It was a “survival of the fittest” mentality, with no sense of camaraderie. Trinity Solar, however, fosters a genuine team effort where everyone celebrates each other’s success. More importantly, there’s always someone willing to step in and help a fellow consultant, whether in honing sales skills or offering guidance in the field. The company provides extensive training through both virtual sessions and in-person meetings, and the active team chat encourages constant collaboration, with team members sharing experiences and insights to help everyone improve. Furthermore, all the management staff are active Solar Energy Consultations in the field, as well as supporting the entire team, making them far more understanding of the daily tasks at hand, and better equipped to address the unique situations Solar Energy Consultants may come upon in their day to day business operations. The earning potential at Trinity is incredible for anyone who is committed to success. The only barrier to achieving greatness is a lack of motivation or willingness to follow the proven training path. For me personally, starting a new career at my age seemed unlikely, but Trinity Solar offered exactly that. After just 10 months, I’ve already reached “High Flyer” status—an early sales achievement level—in the second and third quarters with the company, and have already earned two quarterly bonuses. My gross earnings are now double what I made as a team lead in a big box store in an entire year, and just the recent bonus was over a quarter of my previous annual salary. I’m on track to well exceed six figures in my first full year, and I can easily see the potential to double that in year two. For younger individuals, the career potential is even more remarkable. A person in their 20s could realistically achieve financial independence and retire far earlier than most, often within a fraction of the time it typically takes to retire. In fact, someone witha simple high school degree or GED could easily earn more in their first year than most college graduates, and they could realistically earn more than almost anyone with a college degree in even a career-based profession such as a Doctor or Attorney. All this can be achieved without saddling one’s self with hundreds of thousands in crushing student debt. The opportunities at Trinity Solar are not just about financial gain—they offer a path to self-fulfillment, true freedom and success.

Cons

This role isn’t for the faint of heart—success here hinges on your ability to follow established procedures and proven presentation techniques. Interestingly, no prior sales experience is necessary; many of the most successful professionals in this field started with none at all. You’ll work independently for most of your week, with no managers hovering nearby. There’s no micromanagement, which can be either empowering or challenging, depending on your self-discipline. It’s easy to get distracted and waste time, but those who stay focused and consistently canvass neighborhoods for potential clients thrive. Canvassing is key, especially early on, but once you reach certain performance milestones, you’ll have access to company-provided leads, or you can develop prospects through partnerships with home improvement stores. Social media, particularly Facebook, is another powerful tool for generating warm referrals through your clients’ networks. If you’re introverted or prefer a more isolated work environment, this might not be the best fit. But if you’re personable, enjoy meeting new people, and are willing to put in the effort, this opportunity can be incredibly rewarding.
