Pros

Depending on your immediate boss, you can have a great time working here and loads of flexibility.

Cons

Very old attitude (Good Ole Boy attitude) with regards to how the company works and lots of "paperwork" instead of putting everything online. Focus from HR is on a summer party and Christmas party and it should be on how people can get their job done and spend more time with their family.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree with the burden of lots of paperwork. No one likes it and it can be a real time waster that limits productivity. Over the past year or so we have undertaken the task of digitizing much of the paper flow at Tripp Lite. While we've made good progress at this we have more to do. We expect to complete by the end of this year the task of automating most all of our approval processes, including co-op requests and custom product forms. Once completed most of the repetitive paper-based request activity will be fully on line.

Pros

A financial stable company that is well received in the marketplace.

Cons

Sales Management does not have any decision power. The commission plan is unmotivating and not transparent. Management style is outdated. They manage with a stick and wonder why they loose all their bright people. Do as I say not as I do and you will keep your job.

Pros

Nice People, Solid Benefits, Great Partners, Decent Overall Plan, Known Name in the Market

Cons

Micro-management at it's fullest definition of the word. Hire you because of your ideas, but they don't want you to be creative, the want to go with the old plan that has always worked. Push they want you to focus on large opportunity discovery, then when you do they say that is now how they do business, "get someone on first, then get them over to second, and keep going that way. don't try to hit a homerun on every play." Work travel is 100% on non-work hours, even if that means a redeye flight to get you to your 9:00 meeting on Monday.

We are in disagreement with your statement as to our turnover rate--particularly as it relates to that of our competitors. We monitor and track those very statistics regularly. While the data we review is imperfect, it is directionally correct and indicates our length of service average is significantly longer that the industry average for this type of position. It is difficult to intelligently respond to the claims of "several people" who "heard that one of our directors was the worst to work for". There is simply too much ambiguity regarding who said this, where they heard it from and which director (we have many) they are referring to. We don't mean to make light of your comments as you clearly feel strongly about them. It would simply be much more constructive if we knew more specifics about the behavior you found objectionable. Surely we can improve and want very much to do so, on this subject as well as others. Lastly, while we have many male managers at Tripp Lite, we also have many female managers. We reject the reference to the existence of a "Boy's Club". For the record our Vice President of Marketing is a woman. We also have multiple female sales directors, both Domestic and International, female product marketing managers, female software development Managers and female engineering managers. It is unfortunate that in your tenure of less than a year we have managed to leave such a bad taste in your mouth. We thank you for your feedback and hope your current engagement suits you better.
