Pros
The team is a proper team, and there is a cohesiveness and logic to the work goals laid out in front of the hands. There are relatively clear goals for doing a "good" job, and the support that you receive is practically familial, albeit remote in most instances. Plenty of adventure, new places, faces and occasional sightseeing if you find the opportunity to do so.
I learned so much sciency stuff that truly satiated my appetite for knowledge, and as a wise woman noted, once I thought I "knew-it-all" I was bored of it. I've never been seen and recieved so clearly (and with validating support!) by leadership before. (And I always recognize there is more to know. I had had enough of it for a period of time.)
I will say that working here has made it more apparent that PUBLIC WATER INFRASTRUCTURE SHOULD NEVER BE PRIVATIZED. And please filter your water.
Wastewater facilities that you will visit are going to smell absolutely foul 100% of the time, but the hiring manager(s) had the decency to clearly explain that pre-hire. Thank you for being honest. I realized later that there is no way to really prepare oneself for that workplace condition.
If you can get past the notion of waste water in the air contaminating every thing in the immediate vicinity of (and on!) you, and don't let the offensively foul odor of waste water in clarifiers get to you immediately, then you may do well here long-term. (Pro or Con, still not sure.)
I really liked being an FST here, and if it weren't for the 'cons', had no good reason to leave.

Road Life; living out of a box gets exhausting for a multitude of reasons.
75% Travel was not an understatement = you can bet on not sleeping at home for 273.75 days out of the year.
