Pros
Troy offers a pretty non-stressful working atmosphere. The holidays and benefits are fantastic and in a lot of ways make up for the lower scale pay of a public university.
Cons
As mentioned below, pay is not the best. There are no raises for merit and there is no growth potential in my particular position. Also, TROY seems to always be trying to catch up with technology and is about 3 years behind. They are great with education but struggle with the business side of things such as training and development. There was absolutely NO structured training for my position, and lot of the positions don't even seem to be well defined which makes it harder to hold employees accountable. The rollout of new technology and processes also seems to be a little chaotic with several big hiccups every time. Also, I was hired as a 100% work from home employee and that has changed drastically in the last few years, which is annoying since that it was the reason I took the job in the first place and I feel a little unethical.
