Pros

401K plan has 3% earnings matched at 100% and 50% and the next 3% earnings matched at 50%. Total of 6% contributions matched in some way is hard to find with many businesses these days. The gym has great workout equipment that has 24 hr access. Every employee is given 168 hours of PTO time each year (21 days) aside from holidays. Upper management actually care about you and want the best for you. There are monthy birthday parties, great incentives for job performance and sitting with co-workers in a team setting with no walls between you and your neighbors makes for a great environment to carry on conversations and enjoy each other's company.

Cons

In the Contact Center, there is low job satisfaction due to it not being a department that has many opportunities for advancement as well as dealing with the pressure of an angry mob of people calling and ranting every day (a person's money is a touchy subject). Usually, people leave to work in other departments or leave the credut union due to the high stress factor of the Contact Center or if one is seeking a higher paycheck. Contact Center management will become pushy and agitated when the call volumes spike. This adds to our stress, trying to do the job well but avoid the attention of a supervisor who may think you're not doing that job as fast as you can. During this time, you are expected to take calls, take notes on what follow-up work needs to be done for that call, and set that follow-up work aside to do later. This keeps call volume down but raises risk of not completing the follow-up work as it piles higher. Now that the economy has become weaker, we have become sales agents with more focus on placing products and services in addition to answering the reason for the inbound call. Job performance weights are heavier (these days) on cross-sales than job knowledge and accuracy.

Pros

-Very nice people/polite culture -Entry level people have nice growth opportunities - Less demanding than large or mid size financial institutions -Commitment to DEI -Flexible work arrangements for some jobs, many WFH -Covid policies that helped employees

Cons

-Total rewards are not competitive -Being nice can undermine business outcomes; nobody wants to hurt anyone's feelings so results suffer -Solid execs, but some offer confusing or little direction -Lack of strategic alignment among execs -Routinely understaffed in sales/service and support areas -Everyone wants to do everything, no strategic prioritization means stalling -Decisions don't seem data driven/the data is unscientific or not industry aligned

Pros

Some of the friendliest coworkers I've ever had. PTO accumulates quickly. It's a sleeper job --you cannot get fired from this place. If you're just starting out, this is a great company to begin a career with. Get your 6 months of experience on your resume` and move on to bigger and better. The employees have always been friendly and helpful. Even after leaving the company, I still maintain close friendships with many of my former co-workers.

Cons

The pay is ABYSMAL. Turnover rates are on par with minimum wage retail outlets because of this (50-70% annually, at last estimation). After 5 years of employment, my salary had fallen so far behind the market average that it would have taken a 60% increase to bring me up to the median *starting* salary for my position at any other company in the area. Advancement is not merit-based. Extreme favoritism is shown to the top 5% of the company, the rest go overlooked, regardless of achievement. Raises and bonuses are communistic; all employees basically get the same regardless of performance. Such practices do not encourage anyone to excel. Management constantly lies to employees to get them to stay with the company as long as possible. Promotions and raises are promised that never come. Improvements (especially in the technology sector) are always "coming" or "in progress" but never happen. I worked in numerous contract positions before joining TFCU. Of the 30+ companies/departments I've worked for in the last 20 years, the Network Services department at Truliant is easily the worst department I have ever been a part of. Too much management in areas that don't need it (security), too little management in areas that do need it (helpdesk). There is no cohesiveness amongst the teams in this department. The work environment as at best, awkward, and at worst, combative.
