Pros

As for pros of working for Trustco, I got to meet some very helpful and amazing employees and unfortunately that’s where it ends

Cons

Growth is great within the company but appreciation and recognition is non existent from most of the executives. Confusing right??? Well let me explain. The only reason you get this growth is because the the turnover is like I’ve never witnessed or heard of before in any other company. Even though I left, I don’t feel like I wasted 5+years there because I now know what to watch out for. Trustco hires absolutely anyone and pays them absolutely nothing compared to what they should be making. The CEO is more worried about filling his own pocket instead of taking care of his employees. They work you to the ground and expect the world from you when they only give you a grain of rice in return. I worked through several very tough times with this company and all I got in return wasn’t even equivalent to a pat on the back. You’re asked to help the branches (who are by no means trained properly) but when you ask for help for your department HR says no. They’ll give you more responsibility with no additional pay. Senior management I didn’t even report to took credit for work getting done in meetings with the CEO. You work 50+ hours a week salaried and when you try to take time off you get dirty looks like you don’t deserve the time you earned. I’ll never put my work before my personal life like I did for this company ever again. I worked through multiple “issues” I’ll call it unable to take time off and when I ask for some slack on the rollover pto policy they’d rather say no and take 65 hours of accrued time away from me because I was unable to take time off so I could make sure their department was managed and work was getting done to benefit the bank and customers. Executives and Senior management don’t care about you (except a select few which I wish the best for). You’re just another employee To this company and don’t expect them to invest in you what so ever. Don’t let your kids work here unless you want them to feel unappreciated and under paid. Look elsewhere for work for yourself and you’ll feel much better I promise.
