Pros
In retrospect, nothing. I enjoyed the company of a handful of coworkers. The smart ones never stayed more than a year.
Cons
It's like being in an abusive relationship. Promises of things being better and changes fall short. obligations were ambiguous and changed depending on the immediate need of the company... in short I started as a teller then head teller at bank who played Assistant branch manager regularly when understaffed, and as an assistant branch manager played branch manager never with any compensation or bonus or per diem pay increase, and finally as manager the pay increase wasn't enough to buy a package of TP. Pay was so low, and all I did was make a multi-millionaire ceo a bigger multi-millionaire ceo, in 10 years, 4 promotions in total, less than $4/hr. From the day I started. When concerns were expressed, you get "written up" as an excuse to deny a raise or bonus; and then sent to cover multiple branches, while being expected to make goals in your home branch. If you express great dissatisfaction and they fear having to train a new employee, they meet you 1/2 way for about a month, maybe there's a meke expressionof apology or empathy ... then the abuse returns. After leaving I realized I was in this abusive roller coaster relationship. A promised 6% raise after 6 months "based on review" is bs, they'll find an excuse to deny ...started beginning of 2009 as a teller at $10/hr. left end of 2018 $13.72/hr. As the branch manager.
