When MANY branches have to close the lobby because they don’t have enough staff, that is a problem. Despite this fact, Trustmark has implemented a really bad attendance policy where if you use up your sick time and PTO, your time is gone and they let you go. I have worked with many people who have come within 2 hours of losing their job due to needing to take time for family emergencies, medical reasons add life circumstances that are completely out of their control. One example is that my coworker’s child was life flighted to a hospital and they were scrambling to get FMLA approval because otherwise they would have lost their job. Despite the fact that we cannot keep a full schedule, we are constantly having this held over our heads. We do verbal coaching every time we go over a certain amount of hours and it escalates from there with no empathy or compassion for why so much time is being missed to begin with.

Not enough pay for the workload
