Pros

Flexible schedule and decent benefits.

Cons

Poorly managed. No communication. No support from management or executive management. No commission reporting. Discriminates against African Americans. Does not have proper protocol for grievances. Human resources department is not helpful in resolving issues. Policies outlined in the company handbook are not followed. Senior management is arrogant and does not care anything about their employees.

Pros

Company appears legit. Great product when built by licensed contractors.

Cons

Misrepresent pay structure on commissions. Commissions seems to disappear into the land of Narnia. With a promise "we will fix it". Yet nothing. Company is constantly hiring new GM(3 in less then 1yr.) new regional managers and area managers. That says a paramounts how the Chicago market operates. Company will pay a few nice checks then checks will be about 300 - 400 per week.

Thank you for your review. TUFF SHED finds constructive feedback from our employees (current and former) to be valuable. Working as a commissioned sales person can be challenging and we’re sorry that you were unhappy. TUFF SHED has 42 factories and more than 80 Area Sales Managers across the country – all are paid on the same commission structure. And, our Payroll Team is always available to explain our program or to resolve issues. Regarding your comments about our management team, we’d like to clarify. Saying that there have been three General Managers at our Chicago location is misleading. One of our GMs left the company after 10 years with TUFF SHED and we had an interim GM in place during the recruitment process. We understand that management transition can be frustrating to employees – and, like other companies, we ask for patience and during these times.

Pros

Travel throughout the state, great 401k. Solid company values. Awesome and very durable product, good manufacturing processes.

Cons

10+hr days as a shipping/warranty employee. Poor management tact at my particular shop, use of intimidation to make a point.. overall, ignorant processes. Again, I speak only of my experience with one location.
