Pros

The Central Valley has the burden of many challenges that both impact the health and the ill and the poor and well off. If you work in Tulare County, you'll confront and learn about these challenges, which will call forth your innovation and will sharpen your capabilities to create solutions and have an impact on vulnerable communities.

Cons

Politics is ever present, no matter where you live and work. However, there is a reason why the Central Valley remains with the classification 'disadvantaged', it's difficult to implement innovation in a setting that is persistent about having things remain the same. Agriculture is king and the people come second. If you're driven to cause impact, you'll confront people who are resistant to change or lack the incentive to change.
