Terrible, stay away

Pros

* Talented and kind coworkers who genuinely care about building great products * Used to have an excellent work-life balance and supportive team culture * Still some pockets of strong technical leadership

Cons

* Upper management has become increasingly disconnected from employee needs and feedback * Major decisions are made without transparency or consideration for employee morale * IPO plans were canceled with no clear communication on how long-term employees will be compensated for their loyalty or equity * Morale is low, and there’s a growing sense of distrust and uncertainty * Lack of clear direction or vision has led to confusion and frustration across teams

Losing Culture

Pros

I love the people I work with and there is a real comradery about making Turo the best it can be.

Cons

Large lay offs when management assured lay offs were not on the table. Benefits get slashed about every other week as a surprise. Transparency has all but disappeared recently. Work life balance will take a huge hit as mandatory office days are being put in place (MWF as a cherry on top). Employees are leaving and more will surely leave as a fast follow. I have not seen a company's culture change so quickly and it doesn't seem like there is anything we can do as a workforce to alter it.

Going downhill fast

Pros

A genuinely good product that works well.

Cons

Leadership is desperate to grow at any cost to finally go public. The cost in this case is people's jobs, benefits, perks, culture and morale. After a round of cutting benefits and perks, there was a massive round of layoffs. Just a matter of time until the next one so jump ship while you a can. Stay away if you can.
