Pros

Good Remote & WFH Policy (Depending on your manager). Good benefits and work life balance

Cons

Constant secret lay-offs. The CEO doesn’t like to call them that due to it bringing employee morale down but it’s not fair. During company meetings we’re told if we aren’t happy or making ends meet with our salary then go elsewhere because others would be happy to have our positions. There was a meeting where we were shown how many people they fired and hired. That was a low blow. People aren’t actually as nice as they seem. Turo just shoves this cult like culture to make it seem as if we are way more collaborative than we actually are. I was skipped from a quarter bonus due to higher ups playing favoritism (my managers words). This company is slowly becoming bad and I know many who are waiting to leave. No career advancement.

Pros

Good pay and free fruit in the office

Cons

I found the culture in the UK team shocking, with frequent verbal aggression from UK leadership - I witnessed colleagues being yelled at, insulted, and sworn at by senior leaders, to their faces and behind their backs, and witnessed multiple colleagues crying at various points in time. Many employees left around the same time I did - I believe this was a result of the terrible atmosphere in the office. Personally, I suffered an enormous hit to my professional confidence, which still affects me over a year later. I knew it was time to leave when the people in my life started pointing out I wasn’t my happy, upbeat self anymore. I went into the role optimistic and excited to make a difference at a young, innovative company, and I came out doubting myself, feeling dejected and let down by the people who let the poor behaviour go unchecked. I do believe this is unique to the London team - have heard great things from the Canada and Australia teams in particular.
