Pros

Some product teams are great (mine is). My coworkers and manager are awesome. But I don’t think they will be around for long, because the company is sinking fast.

Cons

Leadership has been killing the company culture rapidly. It’s not just that tough decisions were made, but it is how they were communicated. Sometimes, there was no communication at all about decisions until employees asked. The company has stopped caring what we think about decisions, to the point that they stopped asking certain questions on surveys, and then just stopped doing surveys altogether.

Pros

A few good things: Friendly people, some of them talented. I've made some good friends that I hang out with regularly. WLB is good as long as you get your work done.

Cons

Sadly a whole lot of them - I've been part of more than 3 - 4 reorgs in 3 years. Our engineering leadership is weak, probably weakest I've seen ever. They have no vision or expertise in scaling engineering. The people promotion is really puzzling and the criteria is absurd. - We write some bad software but also celebrate it and Turo celebrates bad product decisions. - People are laid off silently and company wide. Ofcourse, some of the more productive ones are let go. - Every 3 years, they come up with a "3 year plan" that would apparently make the company a rocket ship. The plan: a potato. - C-Suit and SVPs wouldn't even be hired as managers in other companies. They would be kicked out. - They took away all benefits, keep docking good stuff and pay peanuts and messed with equity now. Options to RSUs and back to options. I mean wtf.

Pros

- Amazing culture. If you've ever had the displeasure of being part of a company that is very "clique-ish", this place is the exact opposite. Everyone is genuinely kind and within hours you'll feel at ease and comfortable - Amazing benefits. They pay for your individual insurance 100 percent, they offer a $2000 yearly stipend to be used to further your career with classes, courses, and/or certifications. There are legitimately too many benefits to list here, - A CEO that cares. The transparency and person-ability of the CEO Andre was pretty startling coming from a corporate banking background. This guy very obviously cares for employees, the platform, and it's users. - An amazing product to work on. Even if you've used Turo before as a Host or Guest, the first week will introduce you to all the different uses of the actual platform and it is astounding to see just how important it is to some of the people that use it - Awesome workplace. Easy to get to, easy to park at, and fun to be in. The office here treats you like an adult. There are no managers roaming around trying to get people in trouble, everyone trusts each other to help out and do their part, and everyone is super kind.

Cons

- Only thing is pay is SLIGHTLY lower than other places, but the amazing benefits of Turo can't be beat, so the trade off makes more than enough sense. It also helps that the wages for each role were set using fair market metrics by a 3rd party, so you know there isn't any wool trying to be pulled over your eyes.
