Management doesn’t value the assistant role - the high retention numbers they boast seem to be inflated and does not apply to support staff. You are the least valuable member of the team and it feels like it, right down to changes in salary and job responsibilities after you’ve been hired. Expect to take on more than promised in the interview. You can meet some really great and interesting people, but previous admin culture has also created some territorial monsters.
