We’d like to address the concerns raised in your review directly.
First, claims of layoffs at USP are inaccurate. While we periodically review our structure to ensure we are aligned with strategic and operational needs, something any responsible organization does, there are presently no organization-wide layoffs at USP.
Decisions affecting positions are made thoughtfully, communicated clearly, and with a focus on long-term sustainability, not fear-based management.
USP operates as a global scientific organization, and our presence in India and other regions reflects where the pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem exists today. This global footprint is essential to supporting our mission and ensuring continuity and resilience, not a dismissal of our U.S. workforce. In fact, we continue to invest significantly in our U.S. operations, capabilities, and people.
We recognize that hybrid work expectations, perceptions about the pace of decision-making, and advancement can be sources of frustration. These are areas we continue to evaluate and improve through clearer role definition, leadership development, and more structured talent and succession planning.
Assertions that leadership or the Board of Trustees is unaware of organizational realities are also incorrect. USP’s governance includes robust oversight, regular performance reviews, and active engagement with management on strategy, financial health, and workforce considerations.
We provide multiple avenues for employees to raise concerns, including managers, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Compliance & Ethics, and our confidential Speak Up line.
We recognize that individual experiences can vary, and we regret that yours was not positive.
Best of luck to you in your next chapter.
