      Pros

      UBS has a strong brand Can get licensed (Series 7, 66) Easy work and 8:30-5:30 hours Most co-workers are enjoyable and young

      Cons

      Horrible work environment, no room to grow and horrible pay. Morale is extremely low. This is a call center and is the bottom of the barrel at UBS. The Investment Center takes everyone's trash and management is full of Yes-Men who offer no value. As a CSA your work is mundane and boring you gain no transferable skills and if you get promoted to a "Financial Advisor" you become a call center customer service rep. Management is a joke. They play favorites, do not reward hard work and are unprofessional. Days go by without your work getting approved or processed by the operations manager. If you do not agree with management they will hold a grudge. Management will also make it difficult for you to make any type of internal transfer within UBS. Management will be very spiteful and make sure you do not leave. No one cares about clients. The Investment Center is around to just collect fees. No discount, nothing waived.

      Good place to get trained and get your licenses. Tough places to develop your business.

      Pros

      UBS puts a lot of money into training you and helping you get your licenses.

      Cons

      After you are licensed and done with training you are pretty much on your own. Cold call all day, everyday. This can only work if you come in and partner with a senior broker or if you are very well connected and can get lots of referrals.

      Look elsewhere until Sr. IT management and technology changes!

      Good location from NY Metro Area Not a lot of pressure No accountablity

      Cons

      -Salary and Comp are 20% to 30% lower than similar firms -Getting business requirements complete / understood by IT is a challenge -Technology Items that are core in other firms have to be funded by individual business owners and therefore never get funding. -Sr. IT management lacks strategy and direction -CIO barely speaks English and her people are frustrated. -Each department is run as a separate unit with no cohesion or best practices, when I moved from department to department, It is like I have a new job however, all moves are treated as lateral.
