      Pros

      Great hours, it's research so a lot depends on your PI. If you can consistently get results from your experiments and keep your PI happy, then it's a low-stress job.

      Cons

      If your PI is bad, then Godspeed. You need to consistently produce results, or else you're out of a job. Sometimes the projects you get go nowhere, and you have to start over from scratch. There's not a lot of room for job advancement without an advanced degree

      Pros

      Plenty of resources if you are resourceful, and there are people who are great at what they are doing.

      Cons

      You have to be very proactive. Oftentimes you will need to be very persistent to accomplish your tasks. Double check not only your own work, but other's as well if you plan on relying on their information.
