      Favortism and elitist attitudes

      Excellent benefits, lots of vacation and sick leave

      Cons

      Favortism at a grand level. Even if you are an excellent employee with many years of service and outstanding performance reviews and attendance, mid-level management will lie,steal and cheat to promote and maintain their "friends" positions-who happen to their subordinates even if they perform at a lesser level. Pets are allowed to waste half the day, chit chat 2-3 hours daily etc.

      Office of Research is Broken

      Pros

      The Benefits, working with people who ARE committed to making the University a better place, helping facilitate the funds coming to the Regents that support the world class research happening at our institution.

      Cons

      In the Office of Research, leadership is lacking and unfocused. Management does NOT support our mission. Staff are treated poorly and those who do not contribute to the overall mission are usually promoted or moved around when their performance is poor instead of being held accountable.

      Pros

      There are some great people who work here. Obviously I had a student job, so it was quite relaxed. The managers are, in general, sympathetic to the needs of students and understand when school work takes priority.

      Cons

      There is a lot of bloat in middle-management. Lots of people that complicate the process of getting work done.
