      There are great people to work with.

      Cons

      All the workers will be trained which is the best part because you will get transferable skills for later jobs. Sometimes you may have to do take home research.

      Pros

      It's a very good university with many top-quality researchers. There is a very strong emphasis on biology of many sorts. If your research is biology, there is a good chance you will find someone here doing work in your field.

      Cons

      All the usual downsides of working for a university, i.e. you find your own funding, compensation isn't as good as industry, etc.

      Pros

      Stable employment, great benefits, lots of time off, collegial environment. My job was low pressure but I got to do lots of interesting things.

      Cons

      Almost impossible to fire low performers. Lots of abuse from people who work the system. Difficult to move up once you're at the top of your pay scale.
