The students are very diverse and come from many different walks of life

Cons

Departments are losing funding and shrinking; no support in adding more staff members, leading to overload of work. Starr retention doesn’t seem to be getting better.

Almost 100% Guarantee for a TA position available to PhD graduate students in UC Merced, and sometimes for Masters students too. Lot of teaching experience. I have been TA for 13 courses in my resume.

Cons

Most faculty members do not have enough fund, and teaching takes lots of time.
