      Pros

      Love the environment. Was salary based so I didn’t necessarily have to be there 8-5. The campus is beautiful and the buildings are so modern and nice.

      Cons

      Older staff - or staff who’s been there for longer tended to look down upon the younger, newer staff. I felt like they looked at me like I was a kid, other staff I knew had the same experience.

      Pros

      UC Merced is full of passionate staff that wear many hats and help each department. Every company has it’s issues but I enjoyed working there and would go back simple for the people!

      Most employees work overtime to ensure the campus is successful.

      You get a lot of learning opportunities within a very established system as the UC system might typically be. UC Merced has a startup feel at times, making some initiatives faster to implement.

      Cons

      It takes great responsibility and talented leadership to successfully guide teams when we do have startup-like situations.
