Pros

I have had a good experience working at UCR. The department (Biology) I work in has always been very helpful from an administrative standpoint. Also, I have a great postdoctoral advisor (the postdoc experience is primarily dependent on the relationship between the postdoc and postdoctoral advisor).

Cons

I do not know of any postdocs in my department who have had a bad experience. So there are no cons per say.

Pros

As a normal academic job, it is nothing special to work at UCR. The salary is NIH standard, promotion and work-life balance is up to your boss.

Cons

Compare to the work load and salary, it is not so good to stay at UCR as a post-d. There is no benefit for future development.
