      UC Riverside has been growing in reputation (and climbing the various rankings). Cost of living in Riverside is relatively lower than major metros.

      Cons

      The area can get really hot in the summer.

      R1 institute. High level of research. Many different labs and fields to chose from.

      Primary Investigators are often too busy to supervise or assist. Didn't get assistance when in dire need.
