Pros

The gym is good and UCR has on campus health care center.

Cons

Low salary for TA/RA and the the campus plans to close on campus dental clinic. The management cares more about the money they can squeezed from student than their well-being.

Pros

Great advisors -- always at the ready to help steer in the right direction. As a relatively poor domestic student, and resident of CA, my entire Ph.D was covered with a handsome stipend to support me through my studies.

Cons

Grad division financial aid has been a pain at times. Last-minute changes to financial aid package caused significant stress more than once.

Pros

-Professors seem to care -Environmental science members are genuinely nice and welcoming

Cons

- Administration is incredibly inflexible and treats postdocs/students like children - Professors don't understand how to help students prepare for private sector - Pay is low, even for Riverside - Curricula are focused on memorization/concepts over applications
