Pros

The student body and some of the faculty and administrators who spend the time developing meaningful relationships with grad students.

Cons

Some departments, such as my own, have professors and administrators who are awful to deal with. There's also often no system for checking who gets what teaching assignments and that there is equity. In turn there was not equity.

Pros

Things are on the up and up. Campus is gorgeous and people are friendly. Housing in Inland Empire much cheaper than closer to the coast. Lots of faculty hiring 2015-2017

Cons

A lot of growing pains. Lots of new-hires that have no idea what's going on. Basic infrastructure needs not being met. Promises about buildings/facilities being built by a certain date not being met, and not being met for years.
