Pros

Has a employer-sponsored pension plan, and has a long history of attracting quality staff, many of whom are still around.

Cons

UCHealth has become fixated on short-term financial gain and corporate suit priorities and has completely lost sight of the fact that there are actual people that work for them and not pawns, that there are patients and not numbers. Pencil pushers dictate all. No transparency, no accountability, no staff input. I am leaving after ten years and encourage others to leave too. The pension plan isn't worth risking being tossed aside like trash at any time.

Pros

UCH is a level I trauma center, has 5 magnet designations, and high acuity patients from all over the region. It’s also a teaching hospital.

Cons

UC Health chooses profits over patients and nursing. During covid all ICU nurses for a $10/hr raise while med/surg was given a retention committee that they had to attend in an effort to retain staff. UC health also encourages managers to gaslight their subordinates, uses threat tactics when asked to improve working conditions and patient safety, and you have to pay for parking in a dirt lot that is a good 20 minute walk to the hospital.
