Salary is low and expectations are high. Time is relatively flexible but not very much in our group.

Pros

Working at UCLA gives me access to great mentors, diverse collaborators, and strong research resources that really help me grow.

Cons

Because UCLA is such a large and busy institution, processes can be slow and it sometimes takes extra time to get decisions or approvals.

Pros

The staff works around your school schedule you send them, which is pretty nice, plus you can pick up other shifts at different libraries if you want more hours

Cons

You are limited to only a certain number of hours with normal student assistant workers at 12 hours and supervisors at 15, with a limit that can't go over 19 per week
