Pros

caring colleagues, academic institution, pension (once vested)

Cons

UCSF is a large institution, which makes it very difficult to have your voice be heard, to implement changes, and to have upwards mobility. The compensation is surprisingly not competitive and significantly lower than other institutions. While high volume clinical care is of utmost importance, it often comes at the expense of employees.

Pros

Benefits and some coworkers - and that Mission Center is by some relatively decent restaurants/bars.

Cons

This specifically targets Enterprise Information Management and Architecture at UCSF (the IT group that creates dashboards), and specifically, management! Horrible. Since 2016, a single manager from any these teams (Enterprise Analytics, Business Intelligence, etc - and the director) have proven that they are absolutely incompetent in managing people and projects. The architecture and technology they use is antiquated, there is a high turnover rate, and the managers ONLY care about themselves and the bottom line. There is FRUSTRATION among the ranks of the EIA staff. Nobody likes their managers who need to take some kind of course in...well, management. None of these people have been managers in the past, and their lack of expertise shows. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS DEPARTMENT
