Pros
The culture of UCSF truly embraces the work/life balance that other places tout, but these other places do not integrate it into the organizational DNA as well as UCSF. It's a relaxed working environment in which you can feel genuinely good about the work you do because you are actually contributing to work that affects people's lives in a real way.
Cons
The salaries are not as high as what you may find in the private sector, but you more than make up for it in the quality of work life you're afforded there.
