Pros
Used to be stable employment. Not so sure now. Benefits are good. Nice office with plenty of decent perks & flexibility.
Cons
Advancement is only reserved for relatives or friends of the VP's. They promote their buddies. It's a very tight knit club & you are either in or you are out. If you speak your mind or deviate at all from the direction or norm they set then you are pigeon-holed regardless of success or experience level. It's an extreme turn off & they simply do nothing about it. Entire underwriting floor has turned over in the last several years. It's a classic case of losing experience while catering to a select few and new hires. The irony is - the company has not performed well for years as it's been so mis-managed. But instead of dealing with management, they point the finger at the underwriters. The ones that left found greener pastures.
