Pros

You really become part of a family/team environment working at UFG. Overall the people are very dedicated and hard-working. They encourage taking in-house training to further your knowledge of the insurance industry so you can do your best.

Cons

They have a terrible problem with retaining talent. Management is short-sighted when it comes to seeing the long-term value of employees and are to quick to hire/fire.

Beware the employee handbook

Pros

Most of senior management is dumb and dumber so if you can feed egos and stifle your intelligence, you may like it.

Cons

They out and out lie. In spite of what you are told and what the handbook states, if you're not a senior manager and you make one minor infraction of something in their "bible", the employee handbook, you are GONE! However, the senior managers can violate anything in the handbook and they remain protected. You have no voice and no support.

Pros

Very solid team that works well together. Mgmt is investing in modernizing the tech stack and transitioning to agile. Coworkers are helpfule and documentation is abundant and well organized

Cons

Transition to agile is still happening, so there are some teething troubles. But all layers of management are undergoing training, and I see the effort being made.
