Pros

-Make large scale impact on political systems of the country -Reputable, recognizable organization -Colleagues from around the world to interact and learn from

Cons

-No well defined career tracks -Promotions not linked to performance; instead years of service determines promotion -Low salaries if serving in country position as national; only way to make more money is to move internationally -Difficult to move to jobs internationally without networking; not so much a merit-based recruitment of best talent out there

Pros

Good exposure and get involved in key projects

Cons

Projects are not managed professionally. Only worked as an intern, but seems there is limited room for internal advancement in a country office. Cross-departmental relationship freezes
