Pros

As being a UNV, it can be an entry point to have a thorough experience in United Nations project, programs and procedures.

Cons

UNV is not considered as UN Staff and apparently no direct way from management to support "staffing" of UNVs.

senior level managers are usuallly the ones who make the most mistakes a shocking amount of non-english speakers Work Life Balance no longer exists after you have a project You dont get payed or receive any compensation as a consultant
