Pros

Very fast paced environment. I worked with some amazingly talented men and women in the Industry that made working there fun and competitive.

Cons

Work life balance is very off. You're expected to work 50+ hours and not be compensated correctly. Senior leadership is a huge problem in this company, if you aren't in the click you might as well go home. Employees are not treated as they should be and the company is far behind the times, technology and protocol wise.

Pros

Location The company pays a lot of favoritism towards female employees, so if your young and halfway good looking and willing to be flirtatious with management you will do well. Don't trust anyone working there. Including middle and upper management.

Cons

High turnover, Middle management is over bearing, A/R dept is in a building with no windows. Poor communication between Company owners on the Eastern part of the country and local management. If your new and are not a tree hugging liberal, you wont fit in. Check for Hillary and Bernie bumper stickers. If your not a democrat left winger keep looking. Below scale on pay and benefits. No support from Corporate mgt. Company orientation is lengthily and useless, needs more emphases on actual training than political correctness.

Pros

There really isn't much to say here. All I can really say is I have made some life long friends that I will miss working with.

Cons

Very expensive benefit packages. Out of pocket cost is not affordable. Management is not very involved with their staff and play favorites. UNFI forces their employees to volunteer each year but only with opportunities that makes them look good in the community. If something is important to you but it won't make UNFI look good you can't volunteer. If you don't volunteer at least 8 hours then there is no raise. There are so many negatives here but the worst part is the salaries are very low. I wasn't aware of the fact that I was extremely under paid until I left the company and saw what others were offering.
