Pros

It is a warm, friendly atmosphere to work in with employees who really do love their job there. It is nice to go to work and be around people you get along with, including managers.

Cons

Sometimes, jokes can be taken a little too far by some employees or someone could be chatting too much on the clock, and a manager would let it slip, which I do not agree with.

Pros

When i worked for the company in its early years, focus was on taking care of the customer and providing innovative ways to get customers better deals and achieve a better bottom line at the same time. Service/Delivery level, Selection, and CUSTOMER service. The customer being the focal point. People were fantastic to work with for the most part. Perks like massage therapy, holiday bonus, appreciation gestures that were good.

Cons

Nationalization. The company started acquiring other dysfunctional companies and started to focus too much on making them profitable and upper management salaries than customer and employees. Good luck getting a review on time and if you do don't expect more than 3% and that is if you give up your family completely and dedicate yourself to the company. Remote management is horrible. Who is your manager this week? Lets see. Management locally is decent when present. Bonus? ESOP? Sorry. Try again. Bar set too high to be realistic so everyone gets no bonus except for upper yuckity yucks. COO Sean Griffin in 2016 gets a 14% pay equiv to about 60K increase and according to the stock report everyone else gets a ton of stock options while everyone else is told tough crap, pound sand. Better luck next year. Stocks tanked for a reason. Customers left because we could not support them. UNFI can be profitable and support its customers. Right now they are cutting people at an alarming rate and saying its because we lost a large customer. Cut your expensive/lavish retreats for your inept sales team and put it to work for your customer.
