Pros

Supervalu is a leader in their industry providing several opportunities for employees. Some of the management is seasoned and may retire soon opening up additional opportunities.

Cons

The current financial status of the company may dictate the direction of the company. Supervalu is aggressively going after new customers for the sake of sales.

Pros

Large organization with opportunities to work on large systems. Satisfactory salaries and benefits. Lots of opportunities to solve problems. Good physical workplace environment.

Cons

Very little direction from senior management and so many changes in recent years that no one had much confidence that things would be stable for any length of time. Very little attention given to career development--everyone was on their own. Very high attrition rate in the IT department.

Business Outlook

Pros

Made the tough decisions to save the core of the company. SVU is taking the time to evaluate existing processes.

Cons

Long road ahead for financial recovery. There are many legacy processes and programs to untangle and streamline.
