Poor management that doesn't practice what it preaches.

Pros

Excellent benefits. Non-management associates were a delight to work with. Eco-friendly facilities.

Cons

Management preaches work/home balance but you are expected to work at least 12 hours a day. After working a 20 hour day was reprimanded for only working a 12 hour shift the next day instead of working longer. Once the Lancaster facility was up and running the original management team was replaced with UNFI management from other facilities. Lots of lies and backstabbing.

A Once Great Company (Albertsons) Run into the Ground by Debt and Poor Management

Pros

-Good people/coworkers -A culture that promotes mutual respect and teamwork and an emphasis on fixing problems instead of finding blame -(In my experience) Good middle management that acts as advocates and team-members instead of "bosses" -Flexible hours -Option to telecommute -Average to low job stress -Nice office and location

Cons

-Continual layoffs -Off-shoring -- there is a very large amount of offshore employees -Meager to non-existent pay raises -Average to below-average pay -Few bonus eligible positions -Continual cuts to benefits like medical and retirement -Cuts to fringe benefits like cafeteria, employee store discount, luncheons, annual awards, etc. -Employees are treated by upper management as though they are an expense instead of valuable assets -Steady outflow of good, experienced employees who are fed-up with instability and poor treatment

Lots of friendly people. Especially those that have been around for an extended period of time.

Cons

We're losing people like crazy. TONS of turnover right now. Hard to tell how things are going to work out with all the negative news out there.
