Pros

UNICEF does tremendous work overall. Lots of smart intelligent people. Great impact and scale.

Cons

Lack of corrective action on major issues such as harassment, empowerment or negative performance based reviews, allows long term employees to stay, creating more well-paid bureaucrats! Employees are incentivized to do more of the same to not stir the pot - lack of innovation and willingness to take risk.

Pros

it looks very good on a resume. it gives people the impression that you're a smart do-gooder. their positions almost always pay above market price.

Cons

if your goal is to improve children's welfare, then work somewhere else. thanks to its successful branding, unicef is probably the most effective fundraiser in the non profit world. and perhaps just like any other organizations in the real world, when money comes so easily, wasteful spending behaviors tend to follow. these guys send people out to india for 3 days on a $7000 budget just to count computers in a field office. it gives me chills thinking how many children can be fed with that money.

Pros

Automative, fresh, and easy to navigate coupled with comprehensive 1:1 onboarding briefings where HRBP's really take the time to think about who best one should meet when starting the job. I felt I was able to hit the ground running and get a really good insight of the organization and our division quickly. A really professional HRBP team who are professional, hired for the right reasons, support one another, and their staff body. An open, fair and trusting form of communication and collaboration is established by DHR Directorate which again is refreshing and rare.

Cons

The rotation system is a little stifling and inward looking,
