Pros

Store smells good. Some really nice friendly customers. You can make cool friendships with your team.

Cons

The communication between corporate and stores is minimal so when there is correspondence it’s nothing but harsh criticism or blame. The communication from corporate was giving us these ridiculous outlandish demands or tasks which were tough to manage here’s why: there’s not enough jewelry display for the suggested visual merchandising, insufficient amount of inventory because you always have send your inventory to corporate or other stores so sizes and jewelry selection are very limited. Then there’s constant inventory reports which you’re always bound to fail or miscalculate because corporate doesn’t see the need to update their stores outdated and constantly crashing software and programs as well failing to provide store with properly functioning computers/laptops which adds stress to doing those constant inventory reports. No commission, corporate wants to create reasons to take away your commission also it’s tough to even get sales when foot traffic on an average day was 3 people. Also checking out purchases on those broken computers with programming and system crashes was a nightmare in and of itself. It was more complicated and time consuming than necessary! There’s no predictive scheduling they don’t care about work life balance which leads to my next point. You’re lucky to get your schedule two weeks in advance or even a week in advance! I got work phone calls and texts on my day off or when I was sick. There’s no way to get a promotion as store manager unless the store manager before them quits. There’s no motivation to grow within the company when they promote their talents from within. Product quality is terrible metal alloy contains nickel which causes dermatitis, wearing the required jewelry looks gave me itchy rashes. Even cleaning and bagging the jewelry made my hands itch like crazy and rashes. The leather products break easily, the stones fall out or even black rubbing off on your clothes. More returns and exchanges than sales. Doing sales returns was also a nightmare!
