Pros

Steady Stream of referrals and ethically sound agency. Software is updated often and allows for quick access to patient's pertinent history. Able to easily access other disciplines notes for updates to patient's conditions. Agency allows you to provide all the care a patient needs. Agency does not put pressure to discharge patient's early due to profit or insurance pressure. Good benefits and insurance costs for families.

Cons

Paperwork demands have increased several times over the past few years resulting in hours being spent completing notes at home.

Pros

the people at UPMC were outstanding. I was a team manager for all Oracle Databases and WebSphere in the PSD part of UPMC. The EVP and SVP I worked for were outstanding. a couple of misplaced managers were a pain but all in all it was a great experience.

Cons

Some managers were not up to speed on new technologies and were dragging the project behind schedule due to recalcitrance on their parts.

technology is cutting edge, care for the sickest of the sick, top 10 hospital, great employees, benefits are pretty good

Cons

employees are seen as disposable and are not truly respected, sometimes feels like a machine with the amount of patient turnover in any given day
