      Pros

      You learn a lot working at UPMC, definitely get to see the most complex/interesting cases there is to see - brought all of those skills with my when I switched to a private company. Great benefits including retirement and vacation were really great.

      Cons

      Not flexible, over worked, get paid more anywhere else, do not value their employees because there is always another person waiting in line to come in - no where to go with career and no clear pathway to move up the ladder

      Pros

      UPMC pays fair wages. They treat people fairly and provide great benefits package, training and education benefits to advance. It is a big organization but they are living their values and try to do the right thing for employees.

      Cons

      WIth respect to this question the only downside I have found to working here is perhaps the totality and size of the organization. There are so many different parts to UPMC that is can be overwhelming for new folks.
