I honestly can't think of one positive thing about UPMC.

Cons

Since UPMC took over the hospital I work at, they have cut shift differential in half, cut benefits and raised the prices, cut holiday pay in half, and those are just a few of the many things they did to their new employees. Oh, and to top it all off, because they have done all of this, quality employees are leaving, and it is putting more pressure on the staff that has stayed on (for now), but I am sure they will be leaving in the not too distant future, and I plan to as well.

Good Benefits...Good PTO...upward mobility at lower levels

Cons

If you aspire to reach management and especially executive level, and you have not been through a "rotation" whether it be financial, operational or clinical....be prepared to always be second choice to the arrogant 22 to 25 year old that just completed their 2 year rotation. They will ALWAYS get preferential treatment, no matter how dense.
